Well were you all as crazy as we were today by going out and dealing with all of the other crazy people? I often have to ask myself what the heck am I doing when that alarm goes off at 4 something in the morning. Today the goal was to get my hands on a Leapster from Walmart. Apparently every mom of a 4yr old had the same idea. Within in seconds of them unwrapping the display at 5am the suckers were already gone. It was complete madness and I was lucky to somehow end up with 2. It’s still a complete miracle that I did too
The first Leapster was given to me by one of the ladies I was standing by. She asked me to watch her cart and she would get both ours. So I watched her cart and she was only able to get one. She knew that I was trying to get one for one of my friends who couldn’t get out to shop because her hubby is stationed in California for the Coast Guard. This lady felt that the need for me to have one was much more important than one of her extra gifts she was just picking up. I am truly in debt and very thankful for this woman!!!
The second Leapster came to me in another strange way. When I first arrived at the display for the Leapsters I noticed a friend that I graduated from High School with standing there. I tried to get her attention and say hi but it was way too busy and then the mad dash happened. So I go and get my other stuff and am walking around trying to find the cheap Wii games and my phone starts to ring. At first I think it might be Joel already done at Toy R Us where he went and I got jealous very fast, except it wasn’t Joel. It my my friend from High School. We had run into each other at the Zoo this past summer and had exchanged cell numbers. She was calling to tell me that she had an extra Leapster because she grabbed one for her friend that was with her no knowing she had gotten one too!!
So yay for me I got both Leapsters!!!!! Joel was also successful at getting the stuff at Toys R Us as well… It was a productive morning even with the hour long lines we both waited in.
