Well we have had the Tahoe for the entire weekend and we really liked driving it. We did have our neighbors take a look at it and it needs new tires and an alternator. We are also hoping to get a DVD player put into it as well because the kids are much better riders in the car when we need to go more than 45 mins with it. We shall see I don;t see it as a deal breaker but it would be really nice to have. The insurance was a concern as well but it would actually lower our payments $5 a month there so that would totally work. We shall see what the next few days bring.
Daunting
The journey to becoming healthy can be such a daunting one. Sometimes I feel like I am a Solo Slim down journey and forget it’s not just about losing weight and I don’t have to do it alone. I need to see the fuller picture and know that a pound or two at a time is way healthier than losing it and not being able to keep it off. I am training my body again to crave the better stuff and how to control my portions. The more support I seek out the more accountable I am as well. Sometimes it seems like work and then you really feel the change when you’d rather have fruit than french fries. One day at a time….
Friday 5: Holy Cow This is Late!
What are you looking for? My mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear I seem to have lost it somewhere over the last 6 years. I think it’s safe to assume that the kids took it from me during my pregnancies.
What are you waiting for? My mind to return… I know it will come back eventually. I might have to work a bit harder to bring it back but I know it’s possible.
What is someone else waiting for from you? A response to my many Facebook wall writings that I am horrible at responding back to.
You know you have a long wait ahead of you at the doctor. What do you bring? Depends really if I have the kids with me or not. with the kids I would be bringing a huge amount of stuff like snacks, drinks, and activities for them to do. If I was going to be by myself I’d bring a book and enjoy every moment!
Where can you expect always to wait in a ridiculously long line? Meijer on a Saturday morning…. I hate going there anytime after 10!!!
Misleading
I think it’s funny to see companies that try to make their product seem like the best product out there but it is so obviously not the case. Take for instance one of the many diet pills out there Leptorexin. They have customer reviews on their site that just rave about the product and how awesome it is, yet there is not one negative review or even neutral result. This to me when looking for a good product for anything that I am probably best to look for something else. I can not stand reading a companies actual site for reviews so I always google it for honest and real reviews.
Do you ever notice this as well?
Tahoe
Well the numbers came back good and we would only be paying a little more a month for the Tahoe and it wouldn’t be a lease this time! We are going to have it for the weekend to drive around and check out throughly. I am excited to give it a try driving since I’ll probably drive it the most. Should be interesting…. we are hoping to have our neighbor look it over as well. He knows lots about cars and we totally trust his advice. A few already awesome points is that it has the full towing package on it so we wouldn’t need to do anything there at all. We do hope that they can put one more teether latch in the back seat though so that the girls can use thier Husky’s back there.
Planning ahead
With us looking at getting a new car to haul our trailer with, we have also been putting a list of other miscellaneous things we still need. One of the things we have been looking at is ball lock pins. Right now the pin we are using to keep the ball part of the hitch to the car is not the locking type. So anyone could remove it from the vehicle and walk off with it. Not a cheap thing to lose and we really need to get this taken care of before we go camping the first time this spring. We also need to get tie down straps for the awning because it flops like crazy in the wind and is totally unsafe that way. Honestly though there are only a few other little things to get and we will be set for the year!
New Car
Well we finally decided to go to the dealership and see what they could possibly do for us regarding getting into a vehicle that could tow the trailer but also give us the space we are use to having. We know that we are still a little upside down in our lease because it’s a 5 year and we are only two years into it right now. We figure it’s about $7,000 right now with what we owe over it’s worth if we were to buy it per say. We looked at a 2005 Chevy Tahoe and really liked it. Our sales guy is going to work the numbers in the morning and let us know. I am not sure though how I feel about giving up my Van I so love it and wish it could tow our camper. But then again I have always wanted a truck and the Tahoe is pretty darn close with it’s V8 and all!
College Online
More and more these days it is becoming easier to receive degrees, certifications, and other education through online courses. This is a huge thing for someone like me that does not have the time nor the want to head back to the classroom to complete my degree. The idea of being able to do the work and classroom time from home is the one thing that makes it slightly possible for me to actually finish my degree. My kids come first and this idea would allow them to stay there.
When looking around I was told about a place called St. Xavier University. This place is not a choice for me at this time since I do not even have a completed BS or BA. However for anyone looking to get an MS nursing degree this would be the way to go. All of the classroom time is done through Virtual Classroom and then you only spend one weekend at the Chicago Campus for residency time. The idea of only having to go somewhere for one weekend is totally awesome to me. I hope that I can find something along these lines for my degree. I still would like to stick with a Sociology/Family Service degree so it’s a bit harder to find.
My Brother and Sister-in-Law both have their degrees in Nursing and I know they have talked about getting their MS’s so maybe this could be a great way fro them to go since they have a son now and are also very busy. I think I will be passing the information on for sure to them even if they go yeah whatever!!!
Darn computer
Actually my title isn’t fair to my computer because the computer isn’t the problem but I don’t think “Darn Logan” would look so great as a title. The little man thinks it is fun to pull the cord out of my laptop and try to walk around with it. Well he has done it so many times that the cord where it plugs in at is starting to have wires flaking out. I am almost to the point of looking into computer desks that are small and would fit somewhere here on the main floor. Granted not sure that would really solve the problem but I am just so frustrated at this point.
