New Bedding

I hope that in the next year or two we will be able to get some new bedding for our bed. I don’t have to have the high end Sferra kind though it would be awesome, but something that speaks to who we are now that our tastes have changed. I think our current bedding is about 6 years old maybe a little older but I never want a huge floral print ever again! I’m glad that I know that now and can start planning the money we will need to buy something different.

In the same time that I hope to have new bedding hopefully will align with the time that we are able to sell our house and move into something just a tab bigger than where we are. We don’t need a ton more space but a little more would really just give us a little more freedom of space for the kids and a better office for Joel. I hope to have a chocolate brown with turquoise colored accents.

Beautiful October

This October has been so beautiful and I can not believe how nice it has been here. It was so sunny at Allie’s game on Saturday that I realized that my sunglasses are not going to make it till next year. Now looking for sunglasses at this time of the year can be expensive but when looking online I did not expect to see such a range of glasses prices. The brand that showed up as the most expensive were Persol. Now that is not a price that I can even consider and honestly with kids and how beat up my glasses get it would be a huge waste of money. But I must say those that can afford those high end brands and don’t have to worry about kids would love those!

Dave would not like

We have truly made a huge difference in how we live and spend the money God entrusts us with. We are less than a few months away from being out of debt we had gotten ourselves into a while back. Not only have we worked hard to make that happen we also have worked really hard to maintain and awesome budget and kept our normal living to a comfy but awesome future planning level as well.

Now with that knowledge we have never gotten creditors, never made a late payment, or even had to not pay something. The crazy part though is that we are just now getting calls from debt collection services try to claim we can lower our debt by using them… It think the banks realize we will no longer paying them to use our money and that bothers them. We know live well below what Joel makes and have lots to spare and it feels awesome! So take that consolidators we have had will not have any use for your lies and stealing of our money we are letting go and letting God!

Sun

I wish that I had the prefect pair of sunglasses that would fit me right, look awesome, and cost a fortune. Granted how likely is that to happen probably as likely as I am to find a pair of cheap prada sunglasses. That will never happen because cheap means that van actually afford them and well Prada is not something I ever think I’ll own… But a girl can dream right? Until that dreams never comes true I will keep striving towards my inexpensive Walmart or Meijer sunglasses to fill my wish list!!!

Streak of Bad luck

We seem to be on this bad streak with things in the house and around it breaking or not working properly. Granted it is a great way to make us keep on the saving path to make sure we don’t ever go into debt again but I tell you it’s times like this that we really use to get ourselves into trouble finacially. We would just go out and buy what ever was broken and moved on. Now even when Joel needs some HDMI cables we are frugal and try to get around it some how. There never seems to be enough cables around here though on a side note and Joel has lots of the ones we don’t need it seems as well. Back to the bad streak though I feel this time we really know what we are doing and though it sucks to have some issues we are still alive and life is still great without getting into debt!

Time for a Shed

This is the year that it is really time for us to get the shed we have talked about getting for the longest time. We never have been as smart as we should be with money and it was not as possible to purchase one but now we are changed and it should be possible in August assuming nothing else comes up between now and then. Now we have to decide between wood, plastic, or metal buildings. There are so many pros and cons to most of them so we are taking our time we have to really research them and get it figured out. We are leaning towards a 8X8 Rubbermaid one that is half the amount we are hoping to have saved by then. So that will probably be the way we go…keep posted as I am sure I will talk about it more!

CSA

 I am just so excited for the start of our summer CSA today! I get to go get a whole box of asparagus, lettuce, rhubarb, tomatoes, green onions, spinach, carrots and German Butterball potatoes from Visser Farms! I can not wait as this is only the start of 21 weeks of awesome produce at $20 a week you can not go wrong! You totally need to check it out!

Hello Spring

So I think today is our first real taste of Spring and I am so happy that it is here! Granted Spring does mean lots more work to do outside and normally that can be a bit much for most but I love getting out there and getting my hands dirty in every way! We had to move our fire pit out of the way so that the trampoline can go up on Saturday! After the hubby moved it we realized it might be time to go out and look at some outdoor fire pits. Our’s is in really sad shape after a run in with the lawn mower and many years of rusty outside. I do love it but it’s not the most perfect thing anymore! We shall see though I would probably be more likely to spend my money on stuff for the garden though too!

Almost made it…

Well we were so close to making it all winter with out a cold or flu bug. I am not 100% certain that we have one as no one has missed school or anything and it could be from the dry air as well. However Allie seems to be getting her little cough, Maddie is sniffling, and my nose is so sticking dry with crusties. I wish we had the money to go out and get one of those air cleaners but honestly I am not even sure how well they work or if they are worth the money. I do know that we need a new filter for our humidifier and get it going. I thought we were done with the thing for this winter but some cold temps blew in again and the heater is having to run a bit more again. Does anyone have an air cleaner?

Life Insurance pain…

We started the ball rolling almost 2 months ago to get a better amount and term on our current life insurance after taking the Dave Ramsey class. Who the heck thought though that it would be so much work. I know it’s to avoid scams and fraud but seriously I would rather give up than to keep dealing with this to get new term life insurance. It’s not even an issue that some people face where they have to be looked at further by a doctor but all of the forms that keep coming to my house are driving me nuts. And the supposed 20 min call to ask health questions took almost an hour. Now I keep getting the same form from multiple people working on it to sign though they only need one. I got one 2 days ago and another one again today…so much done with this! Oh well hopefully in the end they will come back with the news that yes infact their quotes of $2 less a month for better and bigger coverage will make it all better!
