I finally finally got my laptop back last week and boy do I have lots of catching up to do on it. I have been just horrible about my e-mail and boy do I have more than enough to keep me busy for weeks. Granted we leave for a week long vacation here in a few days so there is no hope for time to responding to requests from e-mails. One of the best ones that I got sent was about doing weight loss supplement reviews. If they are really offering that then ?I would so try something supplemental since those are a lot safer than drugs and OTC or RX. We shall see though it’s a real thing or not. A little extra help losing this weight could not hurt at all.
Friday 5: Breakfast
Oh my goodness! You have to run out the door right now and you haven’t eaten! Before dashing out, what do you grab to wolf down on your way? A quick Breakfast shake or a breakfast bar of some sorts.
What’s a popular breakfast you dislike? I really actually love breakfast and we even have it for dinner sometimes so I really can’t think of anything. I just prefer it not to be fried and fresh.
You’re going out for breakfast anywhere you want, and someone else is treating! Where do you go and what do you order? Humm that is a good one because a lot of breakfast places are not as healthy as making it home. So I would look for a place that offers fresh and healthier options.
What do you have when you need a simple, healthy (or healthy-ish, for those of you who just don’t do healthy!) breakfast? Whole Grain or wheat bread with egg whites.
You’ve been invited to a breakfast potluck. What are you most likely to bring? I would probably make my Egg, Spinach, Mushroom, and Turkey Sausage casserole. Half real eggs and half egg beaters to make it even better. Then a little 2% cheese mixed in for a little more protein.
One month
That is the amount of time I have to find someone to repair our awning on our Camper. It seems to be getting lose at the bottom where the poles are stored. I am afraid that it come lose while we are driving down the road for our next camping trip. We are probably going to look for a small RV place or a place that does just motorhome repairs. I probably should start looking through the Good Sam magazine I just got the other day and see if there is any info in there but I keep putting it off because it’s not effecting my life right now. Looks like it’s one of those things that needs to go on the list as well!!! Granted if I truly made a list and sat back to look at it I would be so overwhelmed it would drive me crazy. Maybe I shold just have Joel keep the list and have him give me the things to do in small amounts!
Still thinking
I’ve been doing even more thinking since my last post and how it is so easy for even me who has been able to lose weight naturally and even maintain it for a certain amount of time to want to search out the easy fast fix. The weight did not come back on overnight but it also was a lot faster than I should have let it happen and now I find myself often justifing the bad habits that I often lean back on when I am not getting immediate results. The problem with that is that it then sends me on usless searches for things like top weight loss products so that maybe I can cheat the process just this one time since obviously I know what I am doing I just am not doing it.
The biggest problem of letting those kind of thoughts into my brain is like letting Satan tell me that the fruit can’t harm me. Well that is not the case at all since obviously God wants me to learn more from what I am doing and the habits I have created. The only way to really break those habits is to change them… the biggest problem is my current struggle with going cold turkey. I have a feeling I have a bigger butt kick coming my way to make me just go for it. For now I’ll continue to try and do my best and see if I can let my head get the clue that it’s continuing to sabatoge me.
Friday 5: Snacking!
What are your movie-snacking habits and preferences? Popcorn and a Diet Coke. Is then anything else???
What are your late-night snacking habits and preferences? I love popcorn or ice cream in the evening after the kids go to bed.
What are your sports-watching snacking habits and preferences? None because unless we are at an actual game I can almost bet I’m not watching any sports.
What are your lonely, rainy afternoon snacking habits and preferences? Most afternoons I do a good job not snacking so I really don’t have any.
What’s your favorite carnival/fair snack? Funnel Cakes!!!! But they are so bad for you and I’m lucky to have one every few years at most thank goodness.
Struggles
It is so hard to not want to find the fastest way to drop this weight so that I can feel happier with my body again. Especially in a society where there is a constant barrage of ads and commercials for diet pill reviewsand all of the wonderful things this wonder drugs can do for you. However I know that it’s so much more than losing the weight but making a life style that allows us to live with less health struggles and teaching my kids that there isn’t always easy ways out either. I know that once we really get to the level of being able to maintain this new lifestyle change that a lot of the other things will fall into place. It is just getting there that takes time and dedication. Until then I will continue to lean on my faith that He will get me there as long as I let him lead me.
Friday 5: Gestures
What are your thoughts on “air quotes?” I use them all of the time if that tells you anything 
If you are the sort to flip someone the bird, what were the circumstances surrounding your most recent flip? If you’re not that type, have you ever, ever used that gestue? I am not the type at all and can’t really remember a time when I did use it.
What’s a gesture you’ve made up, or what’s a gesture made up by (and shared with) your friends or family? I am sure that when I was in highschool my friends and I had tons but it’s been a while and I really can not recall any of them.
Are there any gestures that have specific, unique meanings in your workplace? Well since I am a stay at home mom the main one is pinching your nose when a kid is stinky but it’s not unique. Hopefully we are done using that gesture now though!
Have you ever received an anonymous gesture of kindness or affection? How can an actual gesture be anonymous unless it’s more of an act really. Just asking but a gesture is soemthing you see.
10 years
How cow is about the best thing to say at this point because I can not believe it’s already been 10 years in some ways because of how fast it has gone since I married my Best Friend. In other ways though I can not remember times that he was not part of my life. We have had an awesome 1 decade with so many of the great big things people strive for. We got married and less than a year later we bought our first home and got a dog. Two years later we had our first child followed by 2 more over the following 5 years. We now have a almost 3 year old starting preschool in the fall, a 5 year old starting Kindergarten in the fall, and an couple of s away from 8 year old going into 3rd grade. It’s just crazy to look back and see where we were and where we are now. I could not have asked for anything else, right down to the little bumps and pot holes. I would not want to go through even the tougher times with any one else but someone who knows me and accepts me for everything I was created as and for. God could not have blessed me any more than He has!!! I am so thankful for the last 10 years and the special trip we were able to take in February to celebrate this time. Looking forward to see what the next decade brings us!
Shopping
I had to do a quick shopping trip tonight for some things we needed from Walgreens. With our anniversary tomorrow, Fathers day next weekend, and Joel’s birthday less than a month away I decided to go on a hunt for a special gift. Now most ladies could easily get something like some lingerie. However if you know me then you know I am more about the little things and being flashy is not my thing because when you love someone none of the worldly things matter as much as your love. So instead I was more on a mission to find a certain something that the kids would enjoy giving and sharing with him. My best moments in life these days are watching my Best Friend and our kids sharing special moments together. To me that fills my love meter more than anything else. I can’t share just yet what I was looking for because I did not get it and I hope to have the kids give it to him tomorrow or Friday. Once it’s all done I’ll let you all know since he actually reads this blog too .
Phone issues
I have been experiencing extreme phone call audio issues since the software upgrade on my Droid Eris. I started having this issue from the day I got the update. The audio completely goes out on my phone regularly when receiving or placing calls. It will dial them and I hear nothing and they hear nothing not even the phone ringing while calling them but it goes through as a call so they just get prank calls essentially from me. Also I will get calls that they know I’ve picked up but can hear nothing and I hear nothing as well.
At first I thought it was an issue on my end so I dealt with it for almost a week until I finally was fed up with having to reset my phone to make and receive phone calls. On May 23 I walked into my local store and they did a hard reset on the phone. He said to come back in if it started again. It was no more than 24 hours before it started again. However because I wanted it to be having this issue when I brought it back in I waited till I was at a point where the phone call was not important and I could go without restarting it to show them the exact issue. My husband took my phone that was no more than 1 month old at this point and they pulled a brand new phone out of box for me on June 6th. Less than 24 hours later on June 7th I was on the phone with Verizon with the exact same issue. They had me do a hard reset and here we are today and I just got off the phone with them with audio issues once again. The guy said there has been no reports other than mine about this issue. Well this post alone is proof. Apparently because there have been no reported issues (so not believing that at all) this issue will not be getting fixed most likely. I am so frustrated because now they want to give me a certified used Eris as a replacement. I’m about to say you can take my data plan and my phone off from my husbands account and I’ll go else where even though it’s not what I want.
The tech guy I talked to last night said well I searched goggle even and no one else has had this issue or even reported it. He then said “if it was on an official blog or forum for HTC, Google, or Verizon then we could count that as a report but I see nothing of the sort and it seems to just be you”. He said this in response to me saying I had done a goggle search and found it on multiple blogs and Forums. I got off from the phone with him and went into Verizon’s Support Forums and HTC’s as well and guess what? There are reports in there but they go completely ignored.
I have never been so disappointed either because I think they are acting as though it is not an issue so they won’t have to give exceptions to people to upgrade out of this phone forcing them to lose money. My husband has the moto driod and loves it. I loved my Eris prior to the update, now I just hate it and would rather lose my data phone to have a phone that I can actually use what it’s original use was made for…. to make phone calls.
I am experiencing other problems as well but because of the issue of no audio I’ve been all over them with that issue for now because it’s so important. However dialing a phone number takes 1-2 minutes because of the keypad lag, and when you hit call, it doesn’t try and connect the call for another random amount of time. Granted once that starts happening I know that the audio is usually gone, requiring me to restart my phone to fix it. Another weird thing is that the Phone vibrates while I’m making a call for no apparent reason. When I go to make a call the mobile number use to be the priority, however, now picks home number or other random ones in the contact profile. I rarely have more than 1 bar of service, frequently none. In places where i had 2-4 before.
Most girls hope for diamondsfor their 10th Anniversary and here I wishing that Joel could wave a magic wand over my phone to make it work. I am so nervous that I will be in an emergency situation and my phone is not going to work and if restarting it would be the only fix it could be too late since that takes almost 5 mins. So this afternoon instead of thinking of ways to let my husband know how great these last 10 years have been and planning a meal for tomorrow night I get to go to the Verizon store and see how important customer service and loyalty are to them. What’s even more sad is if they offer me a different phone I’m not even sure I would take it because I want a Droid but not a fan of the Moto because it’s clunkiness and the Incredible sounds so sweet but it’s a battery hog and I am horrible about charging. So I am just plain lost!!!
Ok so if you hung in there all of the way to this then there are two more things to share. The first thing is a sure proof sign of how little the level 2 tech guys know. He said to me that it shouldn’t be a big deal to do a hard reset because google backs up not only your contacts, mail, and calendar, it also stores all of your apps and will relaod them. I called him out on this as it is 100% not true at all and then he back tracked saying well it doesn’t restore them but it keeps them all so you can reinstall them. Yeah buddy you are so off base and you are the one searching google and can’t find all of the reports I’ve seen. Thanks for a waste of my time!
The other one was that after finding the reports on their own forum I called tech support again and the guy told oh yeah we are getting all kids of reports in the last day or so for that issue and that the other guy must have missed that. So I told him about the google app thing he told me about and I swear the guys had to hold back his laughter and I heard him a chuckle. He said well that is way off base as well. I think I should share this blog in an e-mail to higher tech support at Verizon to show them how bad their support level workers are dealing with things.
