Trying to listen

That is the story of my life LOL!!! I am always trying to listen. Being a both a child who had ADD and adult that stills struggle into “Tina” land. It has gotten way better since I was younger and I tend to find that it’s only a really bad problem when I have no idea what the person is talking about. Take for instance my husband talking about techie things. I tend to pick up bits and pieces of things he is talking about. He was talking about something the other day that looking back just makes me laugh. It was one of those conversations where he talked about getting some more stuff for the server that he and his business partner for their side business could get. One of the things that he mentioned was used cisco products. The minute I heard Cisco he lost me. I was left thinking what the heck is he talking about. So now the story to why I was confused.

I grew up in the Belmont area just north of Grand Rapids. On the main road that lead to US 131 and the East Beltline there were lots of business along the way. I remember there being a place called Cisco or something very close to that name. I remember one clear memory too that my Grandma asked my Mom if that was the place that supplied food to the local schools. So I’ve always thought that the company Cisco was a school food supplier.

So that was what my head was thinking when I heard Cisco and I could not understand why Joel and his partner would need anything from them let alone used. In fact though they are a networking equipment company and have nothing to do with food. So of course I tried to look up the company I thought was on West River and came up empty. I have a feeling who ever they were and whatever they did, they are no longer there.

Moving

Joel’s Grandma is getting ready to moved from an independent living center to a full service care facility. When we moved her last time I remember all of the hassle that went into. Granted it doesn’t help that she has a second bedroom where she is at now that is crammed with stuff and no many even know what’s in there. You can walk to the computer, bed, and closet. I feel so bad for Joel’s Mom and her sister who have to get her to pair down on some of the stuff. I also almost wonder with some of her bulkier stuff if they might not be better of looking into some moving companies so that no one has to do the heavy lifting. Last time Joel and his cousin Paul did all of the lifting because everyone else was not able to lift. I really hope that we don’t have plans once we get a moving date because as much as I hate to lose Joel for an entire day and be stuck home with the girls I know it would be better for him to go help.

Health Supplements

Well I know in the past I’ve always joke about how easy it would be to try to get this weight off with diet pills but I would never actually do that. However I have been known to try different health supplements to help along the way. So I’ve been trying to find the right ones that won’t mess with my body but will help me to get healthy. I ran across this site called orovo and the thing that really caught my eye was not their supplements or anything it was the first image you see when you visit their site. It looks like a wine bottle but it’s actually a superfood drink. Man if my Dad were to ever take a health food supplement that would probably be the one. He just loves wine and this looks like a lot of the bottle he has. I just found this to be rather funny for a health food supplement site to advertise a wine looking bottle as their main product.

Friday 5: Hacked!

When did someone last break something of yours?  Probably yesterday… I break things all of the time.

When did you last play hackysack, if ever?  It has been many many years.

What was your most dramatic haircut like?  When I cut it myself in college.  I had super long hair and then chopped it off.

Hacking is basically breaking through the security that protects a computer or a website. What’s the closest you’ve come to doing something similar in real life?  I tried to fool a teacher once in school and wrote a letter to get out of gym.  It didn’t work at all…

In the world of stand-up comedy, a hack is a comic who steals jokes from other comics. Have you ever known a hack in your own field?  I guess the closest thing could be when a parent names their child the same as one of my kids but really that is as close to anything I can think of.

Week get away

I swear our 10 yr anniversary trip is all I can think about lately. We want to go somewhere where we can relax and have a good time but also explore alot too. We love to do new things in new places, especially nature type things. I would love to go to another country in a little comfy room on the ocean. Take for instance St. Barts villa rentals. Oh to stay in a cute little villa in St. Barts on the beach over looking the beautiful water.

However I am not sure that is in the budget. Right now one of the ideas we are throwing around is somewhere near the Vegas/ Grand Canyon area so we can see all of the beauty out that way but also see some great shows in Vegas. The best of two world and warm weather!!!

Friday 5: Animals

What’s the cutest of the small, furry animals?  I think gerbils are cute, soft, fluffly, and cudelable.

What predator impresses you the most?  I guess the Lion but more because of his sheer beauty as a creature than for his predatorial abilities.

After which animal will you name your professional sports team?  I can’t say I’ll ever have a team of my own because if I had that kind of money I’d do something else besides sports with it.

What’s an unusual animal that you know a little something about?  I can not think of a darn thing at all…

Your high school probably had some kind of mascot or symbol, but based on your memories of it, what animal should REALLY have been the emblem?  I acutally think the Ram was perfect because it described the schools outlook on sports and technology.  Very strong and in the front.

Strollers

I have been all over the internet looking for the perfect stroller to get Logan when the time comes for us to go to one non-double stroller when the time comes. I have looked at ones similar to a Bugaboo stroller and really like the idea of the steel frame and light weight features but the Bugaboo is more meant for a younger child. I first saw one of these on a T.V. show and they were the must haves of alot of celebs.

I know I would like a light weight stroller that is able to fold up more like an umbrella stroller but also the small folding jogging strollers. There are so many neats ones out there. I like the Zooper brands and the Maclaren brands. The Zooper Zydeco is by far my fav but a bit too much for my pocket book. I hope to buy whatever we decide to get gently used when the time comes to get one.

Friday 5: No Way! Way!

Who lets you have your way more than you should?  Probably my husband because he is so good to me and has a hard time telling me no.  I need to not take advantage of that though.

According to the cliche, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but what’s the way to yours?  Words of affirmation and physical touch… taken from the 5 love languages.

What’s something that should have been put away but hasn’t been? All of the stuff I’m trying to avoid on the kitchen counter.

When did you last weigh yourself?  About once every couple of days…

What do the cops in the donut shop say?  Yummy???

Oh yeah another thing…

So on top of my great deals at Walgreens I might be going back for more deals LOL.  Right now there is a $10 off your shopping trip of $40 dollars and there are a ton of promotional items that if you buy you will get easy saver rewards back on plus an extra 10% if you use a gift card to put it on.
